Barnet Construction Supply Chain New Year’s Networking Event

Our Networking Event on Jan 14 was a great success. They are always a great opportunity to meet and discuss joint opportunities with other SME’s in the borough.

Meet the Buyer Event: 14 October2025

Our most recent Meet the Buyer event was a great success. These events are a game changer for SME’s to meet with buyers committed to using the local supply chain. This event was the busiest yet, with a record turnout with 39 SME delegates from 30 local companies attending, together with 22 representatives from 9 Buyers. In all 90 on- to-one meetings were held between buyers and suppliers during the course of the morning.

We do not have all the Buyer meeting records back yet, but from the 5 that we have so far : On average they will be sending out 6.6 tenders per buyer!

Relevant, local companies get one on one time with the buyers to discuss active projects at these events. If you are a supplier based in Barnet, it is not be missed. Stay tuned for the next event.

To date hundreds of thousands in pounds worth of contracts have been discussed and subsequently won across these tables!

Recently Held Event: WORKSHOP EVENT

We recently held an exciting workshop on the 15 July on the subject: Selling to Barnet Council and Selling to Barnet Homes

Many of you had been asking how you can get work from Barnet Council. Up until now there has been no simple answer to this especially in the light of a new Procurement Act which has just come in. Three speakers brought helpful details and tips to understand the process better.

The event was well attended, with 34 delegates from 23 SME’s including 6 new companies. It was a full room and good tips were shared! Very specific details were provided, and we expect that the SME’s in attendance feel more confident now to move forward with success with Barnet’s local procurement opportunities.

MEET THE BUYER EVENT 

We recently held a very successful Meet the Buyer event this past March in Edgware.

We had six Buyers lined up including Chase New Homes, Bouygues, Redrow, Glencar, St George and Taylor Wimpey. All have live projects in the borough and all are committed to buying more from local companies.

The Buyers were looking for a wide range of trades and services including:

Architects, Acoustic consultants, Asbestos consultants, Bathrooms, Bricklayers, Builders Merchants, Builders Clean, Building Repair & Maintenance, Carpentry/Joinery, Ceramics & Stone, Cladding, Cleaning, Diamond drilling, Doors, Dry lining, Electrical contractors, Fire protection, Fencing & Gates, French polish, Glass, Ironmongery, Kitchens, Flooring, Groundwork, Landscaping, M&E contractors, Painting & decorating, Metalwork, Recruitement/Labour, Renewable energy, Roofing, Scaffolding, Signage, Site logistics, Tiling, Waste management, Windows among others. ont

There were a wide range of opportunities on offer from these buyers from small to large. Our local suppliers held fruitful meetings with the buyers and now tenders are in process!
