A very exciting press release has just been published about our successes in Barnet:
Barnet Council’s Construction Supply Chain Programme has helped local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) secure £16.9 million in contracts since 2022, strengthening the borough’s local economy and supporting jobs and skills.
Since launching, the programme has supported 145 Barnet-based construction SMEs, with 28 businesses successfully winning 47 contracts with developers operating in the borough, as well as from the council and Barnet Homes.
The initiative connects local suppliers with major regeneration and development projects taking place across Barnet, helping ensure investment in new homes and infrastructure benefits local businesses and communities. AUG-OCT 26 WINS
Since August 26 when Barnet 5 started, 4 new companies joined the programme; 7 new buyers were engaged; there were 7 contract wins worth a total of £2.16m and 10 new invitations to tender..
A Meet the Buyer event (MTB) was held in October, at the BXT Pavilion, with 10 major buyers and 35 SME delegates from 26 local companies attending. Over 50 tender invitations are expected to go out from the buyers participating in the event, to local companies they met, over the next year or so.
JAN-MARCH 2026 WINS
During Jan-Mar 26, 14 new companies joined the programme; 10 new jobs were created, one of which came through the Skills Centre; 3 new buyers were engaged; there were 3 further wins with 2 successful tenders and one increase in value of an existing contract worth £4.67m in total, and 11 new invitations to tender.
A Networking event was held in January at which our Local Supplier Engagement Award was presented to Chase New Homes.
A Meet the Buyer event was held in March with 6 major buyers and 35 SME delegates from 26 local companies attending. Some 34 tender invitations are expected to go out from the buyers, to local companies they met, over the next year or so.
OCT-DEC 2025 WINS
During Oct-Dec 25, 7 new companies have joined the programme.
There have been 2 successful tenders worth £217,000m and 11 new invitations to tender.
One new buyer has been engaged.
A Meet the Buyer event was held in October with 9 buyers (including the Council) and 39 SME delegates from 30 local companies attending.
Some 44 tender invitations are expected to go out from the buyers over the next year or so.
